Strangeways
By random coincidence I got in touch with the Strangeways crew travelling Asia with their fantastic Scania bus.
Our camp in Tavush region, close to Gosh.
How does 11 norwegians and a bus end up in Armenia?
They could do like strangeways with Attila the bus and drive through Norway – Russia – Kazakstan – Kyrgyzstan – China – Pakistan – India – Nepal – India – Pakistan – Iran – Armenia.
How did I manage to run into them?
Well actually Paul did last saturday; walking home he suddently heard some norwegian voices across the street. He looks at them, rubs his eyes, yup they are Norwegian. Paul woke me up a bit later from the noisy surroundings of Texas bar and tried to convince me to get out of bed and come for a beer.
Hooking up and tagging along.
I didn’t, but I caught up with them again on Sunday in a park in Yerevan. Chatting and slack-lineing revealed that these were cool people. Monday night turned in to a “sjøslag av de sjeldne” and on thursday me and Shoghik caught back up with them by Sevan.
HIV-Ribbon
In recent graphical work with a poster for an Red Cross HIV event I was looking for an HIV-Ribbon in vector graphics and I wasn’t able to find anything without copyright.

( <- Low quality gif preview)
So I had to make it myself and I want this to be available for others too, so here it is in SVG-format, editable in most graphic design programs, free for you to use for whatever you want. Where practically possible, please accredit Armenian Red Cross Youth, for example in meta-data.

Old sovjet cars
Old sovjet cars are really charming and they are starting to become a passion of mine now. I have my first crush on a car with an 1955 Gaz-M20 Pobeda which me and my good friend Aksel drove a few weeks back. It’s a beautiful car, great shapes and amazingly enough it’s also a nice drive – as soon as you get used to it…
Just a few days after my meeting with the Pobeda I had a short date with a 1966 Volga. And I must say, those designers were geniuses. The fronts of these cars are absolutely amazing, and the hatchback on the Pobeda is simply, ehm I don’t have words…
So some things about sovjet were actually good, check out flick for more pictures of these cars. By the way, there is a slight risk of me setting of to a Baltic country this fall to get myself something like this, preferrably a Pobeda. Would you like to join such an adventure?

The IFRC has started posting the best pictures they get hold of on Flickr. I really enjoyed these photos, maybe you will too. Take a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ifrc/

Red Cross Red Crescent on Flickr
All around the world Red Cross Red Crescent volunteers do amazing things every day – most of it unseen by anyone, expect for those directly affected. To highlight how the members of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement strive to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people, the International Federation secretariat has started to upload some of our best photos to Flickr, one of the web’s most popular photo sharing web sites. The photo-stream is updated a few times every week, so come back often.
